“Even though it was winter, I was hot-cold and the body was sweating on the inside. The rise of internal temperature caused sideways thinking and mild hallucination. A few days on your back causes you to ask yourself, “what am I with nothing?” It’s a terrible idea to answer this question immediately because you automatically think of yourself as just a bag of bones. When the moans and aches are over, return to the thought because there is a transitional period between sick and well that the ego has yet to figure out how to penetrate.”
